Get Involved - Join Us for a New Year's Day Hike

Join us on Friday, Jan 1, 2010 for a hike at Falls Lake in northern Wake County.

Hike the oldest section of the Falls Lake Trail to welcome another new year.

We will meet at 1:00PM at the Shinleaf State Recreation Area one half mile north of NC 98 on New Light Road. Parking is limited here because the facilities are closed for the winter so car pool as possible. We will hike east along this section of the Mountain to Sea Trail, through the State Park Land and through Wildlife Resources Commission Land for about 2 1/4 miles. Retrace our steps back to the parking lot for a total hike of 4 1/2 miles.

Easy to moderate hike through beautiful Piedmont hardwoods forest.

Group size will be limited to 20.
