Citico and Slickrock Backpack/Day hikes Week

Together, Slickrock & Citico comprise the southern drainage basin of the Great Smokies.  This is one of few locales in the eastern half of North America where you will find pockets of virgin forest and hundreds of acres of old growth forest.  Interspersed among forest, field and stream, are several large mountains.  Fall colors should be at their best. 

There are 120 trail miles in these two, side-by-side wilderness areas.  Since all trails connect into at least one other, there are many loop and figure eight routes.  We will hike 10-12 miles per day.   

This trip is moderate to strenuous and limited to eight people.   It requires a $50 refundable deposit.
