Checking the explosive growth in population is fundamental to returning to a sustainable balance in our ecosystem.

-Africa is adding 100,000 people every three weeks.   There are more people in China now than there were in the entire world in 1825.

-It is predicted that by 2020, India and China will use as much petroleum as the entire earth in 1995. (Atlantic Monthly)

- The highest birth rates are in the developing countries. Most of these people will live in squalid conditions as much of the world does today.
