Join Cape Fear Sierra and UNCW students for planting longleaf pine and wiregrass seedlings at Ev-Henwood Nature Preserve. A little work and plenty of peace and quiet can be found. Here's what VisitNC has to say about the preserve: "175 acre coastal forest nature preserve located in a rural setting of Brunswick County. Bordered by Town Creek, Ev-Henwood posesses outstanding natural and cultural resources. Native plants and animals can be observed and enjoyed while walking seven miles of maintained trails. Ev-Henwood Nature Preserve is about 10 miles south of Wilmington. A map is available on the website. This site is also featured on the NC Birding Trail. Species of interest include: Prothonotary Warbler, Swainson’s Warbler, Summer Tanager, Blue Grosbeak & Indigo Bunting."
We'll arrive at the site at 9am. End time will depend on the number of helpers, but you will be able to leave at any time. For more information, to sign up or to view the standard Sierra liability waiver, please contact: Nancy Card, NostalgicNan@gmail.com
