The Sugar Loaf Trail winds three miles through a variety of distinct habitats at Carolina Beach State Park. Relatively flat and easy to walk, the trail offers an opportunity to observe the diversity of ecosystems in the park. Insects that may be annoying during summer months will be notably absent and there should be ample opportunity to view winter birds.
Bring snacks and drinking water. Wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the day's weather. An optional lunch afterwards in Carolina Beach is planned. This outing is rescheduled from December 14th when it was cancelled due to rain.
