SIERRA POLITICAL COMMITTEE
Every issue that affects our lives is determined ultimately by some elected official. One of the major reasons that the Sierra Club is involved in the political process is to become a stakeholder in the process. We also see the need to change that process at times and that also motivates some of our political decisions. When we endorse candidates we declare our interest and involvement in the political process. When we meet with them to question their votes we hold them accountable and demonstrate our commitment. Want to get involved? Do you have an environmental problem that you are passionate about? Have you heard about a public hearing but were reluctant to speak or even to attend? Overwhelmed by the complexity of governmental processes ? Join our Political Committee to learn more about the legislative process and how you can make a difference. The Sierra Capital Group Political Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Contact: political-cg@sierra-club-nc.org to become involved. |
