At The State Capitol

The North Carolina Chapter of the Sierra Club advocates on behalf of our members before the North Carolina General Assembly. Our goal: to make sure our state's environment remainss protected and to promote sound, science-based environmental legislation.

In addition to our work at the Capitol, we maintain a state legislative tracking website to provide you with the most up to date information on key legislation and the basic info you need to contact your legislators about key bills we need your help to encourage or stop entirely.

To get involved in our citizen efforts to protect North Carolina’s environment at the state legislature contact Chapter Lobbyist, Drew Ball at drew.ball@sierraclub.org or (919) 833-8467.

In the most recent session of the NCGA, NC Sierra Club worked to support measures to promote transit and rail, expand incentives for energy efficiency and renewable energy, curb the use of coal, protect our beaches for the future, and ensure an adequate supply of clean water for all North Carolinians.

Please note: the NCGA is currently out of session and will return in May of 2010.
